Yesterday's yoga was really good. My whole body was very stiff from over sleeping from the weekend. I heard that drinking vinegar can make your body flexible. I think that's just another urban rumor. If it actually works then everyone, who is doing yoga or gymnastic, would drink vinegar.

It was 2010 documentary film, “True Stories: The Redemption of General Butt Naked” by Sundance Institute, produced by Eric Strauss and Daniele Anastasion. At first, I thought it was a joke but it turns out this is one very evil man. He and his crazy boy followers had killed 20,000+ people. They killed children, women, young and old. They were high on cocaine and wear nothing except for guns and shoes.

This General Butt Naked changed his name after the riots to Joshua Milton Blahyi. He claims he received true redemption from his crimes when he was baptized. So now he preaches to crowds and he cannot be held responsible for his killing since he was possessed by satanic powers.

Microsoft offers $99 XBox consoles

 Microsoft started offering Xbox 360 at $99. This strategy have been used by cell phone companies to introduce smartphones.

So $99 Xbox 360 will have 4G hard drive with Kinect voice-and-gesture sensing controllers. The buyer is $99 Xbox must subscribe for 2 years to the Xbox Live Gold online services for games, films, music and play. The monthly subscription fee is about $15.

This stragegy worked well for smartphones and it will be interesting to follow if people will buy more Xbox at lower price, if they have to sign up for service contract for 2 years or not.


For me, I did not like smartphones with 2 years contract. So I went with AT&T GoPhone. So I don't personally think this is a great deal for me. But if you love to play Xbox games with others on Xbox online service, then this is great deal.

It seems the "meat glue" or transglutaminase has been used for awhile. My co-worker was already aware of this for few years. He was more worry about the "pink slime" then meat glue. The health risk of eating meat glue increases if you eat your meat glued steak rare. The inside of rarely cooked glued steak could contain bacteria like E. coli.

Zoo caretaker goes extreme to help his monkey!

Dedication! Brave heart! No fear! Extreme animal lover! I can go on and on to describe this extreme zoo caretaker from Wuhan Zoo. The monkey caretaker's name is Zhang Bangsheng and he is 50-year-old. Amazingly, he literally licked his Francois’ Leaf Monkey’s buttocks for over an hour, until the little monkey pooped out a single peanut! Zhang Bangsheng was satisfied only after his monkey defecate the peanut.

Supposedly, this Francois’ Leaf Monkey (or Francois’ langur) is very rare and is among the China’s most protected animals. The whole episode happened because some zoo visitors carelessly fed peanut to this toothless baby monkey, which swallowed the peanut whole without chewing. So to save the precious monkey’s life, the model worker Zhang Bangsheng licked the baby monkey’s butt for over an hour. I thought this Zhang Bangsheng was crazy for his action but at least he was “logical” enough to use warm water to clean the baby monkey’s butt before licking it.

With his brown nosing skill, I imagine he will go far in the Wuhan Zoo organization! 

Turtle boy: worse case of rare birthmark

CMN (Congenital Melanocytic Nevus) is a type of mole found in infants. This birthmark affects about 1 in 20,000 babies. CMN is usually not so big but, for 6 year old boy, Didier Montalvo, his CMN covered his entire back. Didier and his family live in rural Colombia in South America, but they are shunned by villagers due to Didier’s huge growth on his back. Didier was not able to attend school or be baptised.

Great news is that a plastic surgeon, Neil Bulstrode, from Great Ormond Street Hospital in London went to Colombia to help remove the mole. Didier and his familiar were able to afford the operation after they received donations thru a local newspaper. I hope the best for Didier now that he is free from his turtle shell-like mole.

Mysterious illness makes cats into "living robots"

This recent news reported from rural Scotland about 21 cases of “staggering disease” caught my attention yesterday. This “staggering disease” is rare disease and vets are not sure what causes this disease in cats. Cats with the “staggering disease” will start to walk like robots.  Cats will walk with rigid legs and tail extended. So if you have cats, then take a closer look to see if the cats are walking normal or not.

This news is surreal since I just saw “Gyo” (See my previous post about Gyo) where a zombie fish walks on robotic legs. If these robotic cats start to fart like those zombie fishes, then I would start to get worry.

32GB MicroSD for AT&T Fusion Smartphone

I ordered 2nd AT&T Fusion smartphone GoPhone for my wife and she is ok with it. I showed her that she can play "Angry Bird" game on her phone but she found that game to be boring. However, she wanted to watch movie on her phone instead of her mini 8GB IPod. The GoPhone comes with 2GB MicroSD and that is not enough for her movies. So I need to buy bigger MicroSD for our smartphones.

Coincidently, I noticed 1saleaday.com had a great deal on bunch of MicroSD cards. So I purchased 2 SanDisk 32GB MicroSD for our Fusion smartphone. This SanDisk 32GB MicroSD is class 4 and from what I researched, it seems class 4 is enough for watching movies directly off SD.





Here are some other things I learned from my MicroSD purchase:

• MicroSD is same physical size as MicroSDHC.
• For larger memory size, MicroSD become MicroSDHC (where HC mean high capacity)
• Class represents minimum write speed.
• Read speed is expected to be same as write speed
• class 2 : speed 2MB/s
• class 4 : speed 4MB/s
• class 6 : speed 6MB/s
• class 10 : speed 10MB/s
• The high class MicroSD is mostly required by the DSLR camera but for typical smartphone and tablets, class 4 should be enough.

Junji Ito's Gyo (Zombie Walking Fish) Anime

Over the weekend, I was watching a little documentary about the poison inside the blowfish. The typical information about how dangerous it is and how the poison works. After the documentary, I decided to watch a Japanese horror animation, Gyo. Gyo means fish. From what other reviewers wrote, it seems the animation does not follow the manga that closely. But I did not feel like reading manga, so I watched the anime movie, Gyo.



It was very interesting how fishes became a zombie-like creature and started to walk around. My wife was laughing so hard while we watch this anime. However, after the movie, she thought we wasted our time. I don't agree with her that this anime is a waste of time. We had a good laugh and I think that's good time spend if we have a good time.



Overall, I think the anime was not scary as it wanted, and somehow it became funny as it tried hard to be scary. Seriously, it is hard to be scared if the monsters are mutant zombie fish with bio-mechanical legs powered by farts. This anime is about 70 minute long and not appropriate for children due to language and adult content.

I saw a hit-and-run news involving Yoda. It is not funny matter but it became funny due to the name. This is a real like Obiwan Kenobi. He is allegedly responsible for a five-car accident and is charged with a hit-and-run on 04/26/2012.

Western Bacon Cheeseburger from Carl's Jr

Today's lunch was very manly burger. I got a western bacon cheeseburger from Carl's Jr. It comes with 2 pieces of bacon, American cheese, beef patty and couple of onion rings and BBQ sauce on a sesame seed bun.

This burger will sit inside your stomach the whole day so you will not feel hungry till the supper. I did not get any sweets or fries since the burger already comes with onion rings inside. If you want some juicy tomato or lettuce, then this burger is not for you!

This burger is not what you consider a "healthy" choice but I forgave myself since I went to my yoga class before the lunch.

Mobile data plans are over priced!

Verizon and AT&T reported their earnings recently and their earning reports show that they made a lot of money from the mobile data plans. According to recent Cisco study, the average amount of data used per smartphone last year was 150MB. However, many customers are paying  for 2GB, 3GB or 5GB data plan when they don't use this much data plans.

I had to purchase 50MB data plan for $5 but it is better than paying $20 or $30 for AT&T's data plan for non-GoPhone plan. Also, many times I end up using Wi-Fi, so I don't need these data plans anyway.

Computer History Museum next to Google and Microsoft

It has been awhile I been there and it was free for me since it is free for students (with ID), seniors (65+) and active military (with ID). They are open during 10am to 5pm and closes on Monday and Tuesday. This place is very kid friendly and the exhibits are easy to follow and see how modern computers came to be.

The museum is near to Google and Microsoft building. So there could be a traffic if you are there during a rush hour. After museum, you can drive to near by Shoreline Park and Lake to relax and for a short walk by the lake. The weather is very pleasant and very nice to enjoy the cool air by the lake.

Ebay vs. Amazon: And the winner is ....

I was browsing eBay and Amazon and I was thinking about my experience with both sites. I used to sell items on eBay. I used to sell boots, clothing, bags and DVDs.  It was decent business until all the Chinese factories and wholesalers started to sell directly and made competition tougher. However, I finally stop selling items on eBay few years ago after I was getting nickel-and-dimed to death with eBay and PayPal (a subsidiary of eBay). I will still try to buy items from eBay if I don't mind the time or don't need the item right away, then I just bid on eBay auction and wait for the easy cherry picking. However, when I want something, then I just go to Amazon and order it.

These days, I found Amazon more reliable and efficient compare to eBay. I have a feeling that I am at a garage sale when I visit eBay site vs. I am at a department store when I visit Amazon site. Both will get my time and money but I think Amazon is definitely headed right directly. Also, Amazon's kindle shows that it can tap into a customer electronic market successfully. Similarly, eBay has a PayPal to add to its bottom line but, again, I felt that I was being double charged by eBay/PayPal when I sell on eBay. So the winner is definitely Amazon.

Pratice speaking with Sony digital voice recorder

Recently, I purchased Sony Digital Flash Voice Recorder (ICD-PX312) from Amazon and I very happy with how this recorder is performing so far. This is a digital recorder so I don’t need t get those small cassettes anymore. Also, this one let you transfer your recording to PC via USB connection. This is the key reason why I purchased this instead of other digital recorders at half the price.

It comes with a 2 GB built-in Flash memory and a memory card expansion slot. But I Think 2 GB is more than enough for my need. It runs on 2 AAA batteries and these were included in the package.



I already noticed two benefits from using this recorder. First benefit is that this device really helps me with my speaking practices. I definitely noticed how I drift off into low tones at the end of my sentences. So hopefully, I will speak much more clearly as I incorporate this device into my speaking practices. Second benefit is that I don’t forget my thoughts and I can always come back and continue where I left off as I started to record my ideas into it.

I strongly recommend this product if you are looking to a digital recorder for casual usage and can easily transfer files to your computer.

Warriors of Goja : Indian Talent Show Insane!

This is a video from Indian talent show. It is an insane performance! This show was air during November of 2011. It gets crazy around 0:45sec and gets sick crazy at the end. I was totally dumbfounded by their performance. I wonder if they can perform this act in US or not. It might be difficult to get any permit from law enforcement or they need to have couple emergency crews ready to get an approval. Also, it would be hard or very expensive and costly to cover them under any insurance.

I can only imagine how powerful their show would be in a live setting with all the crowds going nuts and the awe I felt would be like 10 times more. Definitely, a self-mutilation of any kind is too much to stomach and hard to understand.

Pork Heaven! Dickey's Barbecue Pit for late lunch

I exercised during lunch time and had to work after that for awhile. I wanted to have something sweet and yet meaty. So I headed to Dickey’s Barbecue Pit for late lunch. This is great place and the one I went is at the AutoMall, Fremont. I love there is a big jar of pickles and a fresh cut lemon wedges for your teas and sodas. Also, the best part is a free soft ice cream for anyone who dine-in there.

I was hungry but I don’t want to overeat, so I ordered a pulled pork barbecue sandwich with a soda.  The big barbecue sandwich was $5.50 and soda was $2.25. The soda cup is 32 oz Big Yellow Cup. The inside was quite since I was there for a late lunch. So far, I tried pulled pork and Texas style chopped beef brisket. So I will try sliced beef brisket next time.

There are over 210 Dickey’s BBQ Pit restaurants in US. The 1^st Dickey’s BBQ Pit was opened in 1941 at Dallas, Texas. I check the franchise requirement for Dickey’s Barbecue Pit and here are some requirements for it.

Yoga for Men

My wife wants me to lose weight. So I started going to the gym during weekday lunch time by myself. For weekday evenings, I go to the 24 Hour Fitness Gym with my brothers. For weekend evenings, I go to the 24 Hour Fitness Gym with my wife.

It has been about 2 months and so far I lost about 10pounds. I used to weight about 203pounds and now 193pounds. I definitely sit front of computer too much and that is why it is so difficult to lose my abdominal fat. The yellow parts would be where abdominal fats get stored for men.

I am glad that I started the workout program couple months ago and I hope I can keep it up.

One of classes I attend at the gym is a yoga class. It really helps me a lot with my lower back pain and being flexible. It will give me muscles but I need flexibility more than muscles at this point of my life.
If you have a chance to try Yoga, then you should try it. You will feel calm and feel the control of your muscles again, if you are a stiff like me.

I will try to research and update more on Yoga for Men. For now, I will end this post with two thumbs up that you should definitely try yoga if you are:

• trying to lose weight
• trying to improve balance and obtain proper posture
• trying to relieve your work/physical stress and calm yourself with better breathing
• trying to improve your mental concentration
• trying to be flexible

Getting nervous before Facebook IPO

It seems I was too optimistic about RenRen (See my old post). Today's RENN stock price is around $6.10 and it seems to losing traction. RenRen is similar to USA's Facebook but for China. Also, RenRen offers youtube-like video website and Groupon-like group deal site.
I am still positive for RenRen position but I hope the stock price does not go further down. Facebook is expected to go IPO mid-May and it might get delay since Facebook recently purchased Instgram for $1 billion and this information needs to be updated and review by SEC prior to IPO.

Living by 5 minutes

1. Each morning take 5 minutes to think about what to do for that day. This is to let you focus on key agenda for the day. Life with purpose is more meaning; however, it is hard to find the life's purpose but this 5 minutes will be a good practice and good place to start.
2. Each evening take 5 minutes to think about what you did that day.   This is to let you review your performance for that day. Also, this gives you gather your thoughts after a busy day at work.
3. Each afternoon take 5 minutes to think about where or what you were doing 5 years ago. This is to motivate you and give an update on various aspects of your life, such as  love, career, money and family, and how your life's progressing. This will be difficult for you if you are going through a hard time but it does not help to hide from your reality.
4. Each evening take 5 minutes to massage your feet and hands so that you can wind down.   Your feet and hands are tired from the day's work. Massage them to calm your mind and clear your head before going to sleep.
5. Each weekend take 5 minutes to think about where you want to be in 5 years. This is to let you focus on your future without the stress of work. You cannot hurry life but you can guide it the way you want to be. So adjust your 5 year plans and follow through.

Norway's mass killer claims self-defense!

Anders Behring Breivik is a Norwegian anti-Islamic fanatic who killed 77 people in the summer of 2011. He killed eight people with a car bomb in Oslo on July 22, 2011 and then shot 69 at a Labour Party summer youth camp.

He claims a militant group called "Knights Templar" helped train him to be a methodical killer, but he refused to answer over 100 questions on this topic. The original Knights Templar were a medieval brotherhood of European Christian knights that fought in the Crusades.

This Norwegian killer said he used Modern Warfare, a first-person shooting videogame, and World of Warcraft, to practice and plan attack.

Sadly, this person is a lost cause for humanity. He is filled with evil, hatred and jealousy. He killed 69 innocent people and he claims self-defense. He is manipulative so that he is now playing court games while he is on trial for his murders he committed.

Pulgas Water Temple

If you are visiting the Bay Area, then you can stop by the Pulgas Water Temple if you are in Woodside, CA area. It is nice place to for a short walk and take some pictures. I would suggest checking this place out if you want to relax and when the weather is perfect outside.
I think it is a great break point or stop point, if you are travelling from San Francisco to San Jose or vice versa.
