Numbers can be used instead of actual words.
For examples, my blog address is 1004666.blogspot.com.
- 1004 is read as "천사" in Korean. "천사" means "1004" or "Angel"
- 666 is popular number and it is known as the mark of the beast or "Devil"
I thought it was very poetic since the numbers could represent "justice and crime" or a popular drame "Law & Order" There is nothing more satisfying than watch bad guys put away for their crimes.
I missed the orignial "Law & Order" and cannot find the episodes on Hulu. But you can watch the "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" from hulu. Here is the link (http://www.hulu.com/law-and-order-special-victims-unit) to the "Law & Order: SVU".
[updated]
Interestingly, I worked with some chineses and their phone numbers always include some combination of number 8. I asked and found that it is because how these numbers sounds in their language.
The phonetic sound of eight--"baat" in Cantonese and between
"pa" and "ba" in Mandarin--is similar to
"faat," meaning prosperity, good fortune or money.
So the area code 818 with two eights, it is considered lucky and sounds good to the Chinese ear. It is like your area code is like "BLING one BLING" or "Money one Money".
So, for example, a telephone number (818)
282-2828 to Chinese ear sounds like "prosperity guaranteed
prosperity-easy prosperity and more easy prosperity." Similarly, (818) 282-0283 sounds like "prosperity guaranteed prosperity-easy
prosperity twice and long life".
So number 8 would be same category as 1004 or goodness unless you think money is a root of all evil.
